Weekend Excerpt–Just One Night

JON available everywhere4

If you’re like me, you’re more than ready for summer.  While it’s still cold out, you can still make your escape to hot Caribbean days…and even hotter nights.

JUST ONE NIGHT is my naughty little summer novella.
No personal information!
Katie Parker was adamant about that.  She wants to forget all about her latest romantic disaster with an anonymous holiday fling.
But now, can Mac Coleman convince her that what they’ve found is worth more than just one night?
Here’s a steamy little teaser to get you warmed up.  *Warning: This excerpt is 18+.

Mac and Katie made their way to the appropriate elevator, stepping in as the doors slid open.  Finding themselves alone in the car, he pulled her to himself and kissed her again, this time with bruising intensity.  She balanced herself with her hands on his broad shoulders as he wound her hair around his fist.  The bell sounded and the car came to a stop on the floor above.  They managed to separate themselves just as the doors parted.

A pair of elderly couples crowded in.  Mac drew Katie to stand in front of him, wrapping one arm around her middle and firmly planting the palm of his other hand on her ass.

“Are you going to the midnight buffet?” asked a kindly blue-haired lady.

“We might make it there later,” Mac replied, as Katie casually reached behind her back to stroke his erect cock through the front of his pants.

Having bid a good evening to their lift companions, they stepped out onto the Empress Deck and wordlessly made their way down the passageway, Mac gently clasping Katie’s hand.  She watched as he unlocked the door and let them into his stateroom.

Katie crossed immediately to the glass wall overlooking the veranda and glanced around the plush cabin.  The king-sized bed had been turned down and luxurious, foil-wrapped chocolates graced the large pillows.  The only light was from a small lamp on a bedside table.  “This is nice.  Much nicer than mine, truth be told.”

Mac shrugged.  “My brother…  I wouldn’t have booked a room this fancy.”  He crossed to her and lightly caressed her back.  “Would you like some wine or something?”

She turned to face him and leaned up on her toes, trailing tiny kisses along his square jawline.  “Wine would be great.”

He leaned down and kissed her bare shoulder, hooking a finger in the spaghetti strap of her dress and sliding it down.  Katie fixed him with a smoldering look as she shrugged her right shoulder, causing the other strap to fall.  Her dress slid down, catching briefly on her erect nipples before falling to her waist.

“Holy…”  Mac stared at her perfect round breasts, erect pink nubs just begging to be toyed with.  Unable to resist, he slid his hands up her sides to cup her mounds, hefting their weight, pausing to gently tug their sharp points.  He squeezed gently as he kissed her again.

Reluctantly, he pulled away, clearing his throat.  “I’ll just order that wine now.”

Mac sank onto the edge of the bed and picked up the phone, dialing room service.  “Yes, this is Stateroom…”

As he began speaking into the phone, Katie knelt between his feet and began to unfasten his belt.  He looked down in surprise and was met with a wicked grin.  “Uh, yes, we’d like to order a bottle of wine…”

He gasped quietly as she took him in her mouth.  It was all he could do to complete the order and hang up the phone.  When he did, she began sucking him in earnest, taking in the whole of his large cock, mercilessly working him with her tongue from his balls all the way to his tip and back again.  She applied just the right amount of pressure, using her tongue to flick at his most responsive spots.

Mac could feel his release building and placed a hand on her head intending to warn her, but she looked up at him with a saucy arch of the eyebrow and continued her ministrations with renewed vigor.  “Oh, God!” he cried out, his hot essence shooting in streams down her throat.

While his shuddering subsided, Katie licked him clean before rising to her feet, a smug look on her face.  Mac flopped back on the bed.  “I’m a dead man.”

A knock at the door startled them both.  “Room Service!”

Mac jumped up and attempted to put himself back together.  At the same time, with a little wiggle Katie freed her dress from where it was snagged around her waist and it floated down the rest of her body, pooling around her feet, leaving her standing in just a pair of black lace panties.

“Holy shit,” he murmured, moving past her to the door, which he cracked open.

“Good evening, sir,” the attendant said.  “May I set up the wine for you?”

Mac glanced back at Katie standing virtually naked in the center of the room.  His own pants were still undone.  “Um, no, thanks, I’ll take it from here.”

The attendant smiled knowingly.  “Very good, sir.”

This weekend, curl up with a steamy little erotic romance.
It’s the best 99¢ vacation you ever LOVED!

Weekend Excerpt–CHASING ORDINARY

Who doesn’t love a modern-day adult fairy tale?

Redhead woman embracing her man on snowy winter day

Europe’s most eligible prince.
A gifted sculptor who has no idea who he really is.
She’s everything he ever wanted…if he doesn’t blow it.

When artist Petey Cavanaugh agreed to show her steel and glass sculptures in a Manhattan gallery, she never planned on falling in love with a prince.

Following their chance meeting on a rainy evening, Nik realizes Petey doesn’t know who he is, and he savors his first-ever taste of ordinary. He knows he needs to be honest with her, but before he comes clean, Petey discovers the truth for herself.

Feeling humiliated and betrayed, she refuses to have anything to do with him. Will she give him the chance to explain? Or has his lie of omission cost him everything?

Here’s a new teaser from CHASING ORDINARY.

The man reached to shake her hand.  “Ms. Cavanaugh, enchanted.  We’re pleased to have you dining with us this evening.”

Dining?  Petey glanced around, seeing only a handful of small private planes and a red helicopter.

“If you’ll step this way, we’ll be ready to go.”  The man led them to the helicopter, which struck Petey as not unlike the one they’d flown in that night in Manhattan.

Petey climbed aboard, sliding over to allow Nik to climb in beside her.  She buckled her seatbelt and picked up a set of headphones.  “A helicopter?”  She arched an eyebrow.

“It’s a very exclusive restaurant,” Nik quipped, putting on his own headphones.

The engine roared to life and the rotors began spinning.  The aircraft lifted off the ground, and soon, Lars, Ada, and the car looked like toys far below.  Excited, Petey reached for Nik’s hand as they rose even higher.  The ground below was covered in a layer of snow, making the farms and forests look like a winter wonderland.

“That’s Ansgar,” Nik pointed out as they flew over the castle.  Petey could just make out her workshop and the barn with the brand-new stable behind it.  She leaned over to give Nik a kiss.  He smiled with pleasure.

After they flew over the estate, they banked left and headed toward the mountains.  The rolling farmland faded away as jagged granite mountains rose before them.  In the space between two peaks, Petey saw a vast open space covered in what looked to be deep snow.  Something clearly manmade marred the pristine snowfield, but Petey couldn’t tell what it was.

The helicopter circled around and landed at the edge of the snowfield.  Petey could now see that the rectangular anomaly was a dining table carved out of the snow.  Flanking it on either side were benches, also carved out of the snow.  While the table was elegantly set for a formal dinner, the benches were covered with red blankets, and each seat was defined by a thick white fur.

The pilot opened the helicopter door and let Nik out.  Nik, in turn, reached out for Petey’s hand, helping her climb down.

He smiled down at her.  “See why we needed ski clothes?”

She nodded, eyes shining.  “This is the most amazing thing I’ve ever seen.”

“Good.  Let’s have dinner, shall we?”

They chatted quietly over fresh seafood and champagne.  The only other people were the pilot and the two servers, who remained discreetly at a distance unless they were needed.  Warm enough with a blanket pulled over her lap, Petey gazed out across the valley to the snow-capped peaks in the distance.

When she looked back, Nik was smiling at her.  “Do you like it?”

She couldn’t stop the grin.  “I love it.  You know it isn’t necessary, though.  All this,” she rolled her eyes, “fancy stuff.”

He smiled at her tenderly.  “I know.  That’s why I wanted to do it.”

Together, they toasted the sunset as the receding light painted the sky in glorious shades of purple, rose, and orange.

If you love grown-up fairy tales, this is the book for you.

Weekend Excerpt–For Sparrow

FOR SPARROW received more great news this week.  Named the 2017 New Apple Medalist for Literary Erotica, it’s now also a Golden Flogger Nominee for Best BDSM Book of the Year.

The third Dream Dominant novel, it’s the story of new widow Jessi Crenshaw and her unconventional relationship with hot Dominant firefighter paramedic, Judd Farris.

When Jessi’s husband Graham dies unexpectedly, she’s shocked to find out that he made provision for her, asking his friend Judd to step in as a surrogate Dom until Jessi is back on her feet.

A platonic Dom/sub relationship is a damn odd arrangement, and they find their mutual attraction growing.  Could it be that Graham had something more permanent in mind?

And could it all end at the hands of a madman?

Here’s a little snippet:

It was 9:30 on Saturday morning when Judd pulled up in front of Jessi’s house in his beat-up F-150.  His main focus today was to fix the driveway gate that opened onto the street.  It had apparently been rusted open for the last few years.

That was his main focus.  Then there was the other thing.  He rolled his eyes and tried to mentally prepare himself for Jessi’s reaction.  He breathed out sharply.  “Here goes nothing,” he muttered.

It was about half an hour later that Jessi glanced out her front window and noticed Judd on a ladder at the end of her driveway.

“What the…?”  She marched out the front door and down the driveway.

“Excuse me,” she said, feeling like she was stuck in a time warp to the previous week.  At least she hadn’t awakened on the pool deck.  And a quick glance down confirmed that she was indeed dressed.

“Good morning, Jessi,” Judd answered, swinging down off the ladder.  He couldn’t help noticing that she looked much more put together today, dressed in a green sleeveless top and jeans that fit oh, so right, her auburn hair shining in the sun.  “It’s a beautiful day.  You look nice, all dressed and everything.”  He grinned at her.

“Yes, well, be that as it may,” she said blushing.  “Is this supposed to be an ‘every Saturday’ kind of thing?”

“No, not every Saturday.”  He shook his head.  “I’m working next Saturday so I’ll be here on Friday next week.”

Jessi crossed her arms in front of her.  “Look.  Judd.  I don’t mean to seem ungrateful.  But I’m just not comfortable with you being over here, working on my property like this.”

He squinted at her thoughtfully.  “Not comfortable.  Why not?”

His question surprised her.  “Well…just…because,” she spluttered.

His grin was accompanied by a twinkle of amusement in his brown eyes.  “No worries, Jessi.  I’ll be finished with your gate soon.”  As he turned to climb the ladder again, there was a small yipping sound from around the hedge.

Curious, Jessi moved closer.  In a small grey plastic corral made of some kind of toddler barrier, a brown and white puppy with long floppy ears looked up at Jessi, tail wagging furiously.

“Well, hello there, cutie,” she said.  Glancing up at Judd she said, “You brought your dog?”

Judd climbed back down again.  “It’s kind of complicated,” he said.  He reached in and lifted the puppy out of the corral, cradling him in his arms.  “Look at this face,” he cooed to the puppy.

He turned to Jessi.  “A friend of mine called me from the animal shelter, said they had a litter of beagle puppies that needed homes.  When I got down there, this little guy was the only one left.  If I didn’t take him, they were going to have to put him down.”

Jessi looked at him, aghast.  “I know,” he agreed to her silent protest.  “I had to take him.  The only thing is,” he looked at her with soft brown eyes, “I work twenty-four hour shifts at the station, sometimes back to back.  I can’t take care of a puppy.”

“At the station?”

“Fire station.  I’m a paramedic.”

“Oh.  I didn’t know that.”

“Anyway, I was sort of hoping…”  He looked at her meaningfully.

Jessi raised a hand in front of her.  “Oh, no, no way.  I can’t have a puppy.”

Friendly smile in place, he handed off the puppy to her quickly and went back up the ladder.  “Why not?”

She hugged the dog to her chest and swayed as if he were an infant.  “Well, just…I can’t, that’s all.”

“Why not?  You work regular hours, right?  You have enough room for him.”  Judd glanced down at her.  “If you can’t, I’ll have to take him back to the shelter and they’ll put him down.”

Jessi looked back down at the puppy and he licked her chin.  “Well, nobody’s going to put you down.  He can stay.”  She looked back up at Judd.  “For now.  But remember, he’s yours.  What’s his name, anyway?”

Judd grinned.  “Buddy.  His name is Buddy.”

“Well come on, Buddy.  Let’s see if we can find you something to eat,” Jessi cooed as she made her way back into the house.

“I’ve got some puppy kibble in my truck.  I’ll bring it to your door when I finish with the gate.”  Out of the corner of his eye, he watched her walk away making baby talk to the puppy.

He laughed to himself.  That was not as hard as I thought it would be.

Weekend Excerpt–Work In Progress: Warrior Mine

Fun Fact: Initially, the working title for my current Work In Progress was LOSTer & BOUNDer, LOL.  That’s because it’s a spin-off from Lost & Bound, the second book in the Dream Dominant Collection.  Warrior Mine tells the story of Scott Nielsen, Blake’s friend and mentor in the Lifestyle, and Jackie Walker Fox, Blake’s sister.

The Dream Dominant books are all stand-alone contemporary erotic romance novels with a light BDSM theme, and they feature sexy, Dominant Alpha males and the strong red-haired submissives they can’t resist.

Warrior Mine will still be stand-alone, although the story of Scott and Jackie does intersect with that of Jackie’s brother Blake and his baby girl, Shasta.  It also breaks rank with a typical Dream Dominant in that Jackie is a sexy brunette.

For this weekend’s excerpt, here’s a little (unedited) teaser from Warrior Mine.

As Scott circled Lake Miranda, he felt an odd sense of the familiar.  He’d never been there before, as much as he and Blake had talked about it over the years.  But he supposed that one lake was pretty much the same as the others in this part of the country.

This particular lake was uninhabited, save for the lodge he’d spied as he’d flown over.  He supposed the cabins Blake had described were hidden beneath the thick forest of trees.  One unique feature Lake Miranda had was the small island about a third of the way between the lodge and the western shore.

He made his descent to the surface of the lake, carefully avoiding the island.  As he motored toward the lodge, he saw two women walk out onto the dock, watching his approach.  One of the women, the brunette, spoke, and two children he hadn’t noticed stood and went into the house.

The other woman had bright red hair.  That must be Blake’s Amy, he reasoned.  Which would make the brunette Blake’s sister Jackie?

He cut the engine and instantly the world was quiet once more.  He hung up his headphones and opened his door, stepping carefully onto the pontoon below.  Jackie, hands on her hips, continued to stare in his direction.  Scott used a paddle to move the plane closer to the dock.

“No.”  Jackie’s voice was adamant.  “You can’t be here.  Just go on back to wherever you came from, this is a private dock.”

“But,” Scott began.

“Nope, no buts.  You’ll have to go now.”  Jackie planted her feet shoulder-width apart and crossed her arms.

“I talked to Blake a couple of weeks ago, told him I’d be stopping by.”  He tried his most reassuring smile.

“Wait are you Scott?” the redhead asked.

“I’m Scott Nielsen,” he grinned.  “I used to work with Blake.  You must be Amy?”

Scott watched as Jackie moved in front of Amy.  For her part, Amy seemed a bit surprised.  “Um, yes,” she frowned.  “Blake told you about me?”

Scott laughed.  “We’re pretty tight, Blake and I.  He’s like the little brother I never knew I wanted.”  He laughed again, trying to ease the tension.

“And I guess that makes you Jackie.”  Holding the line to the plane, he stepped onto the dock, moved the sunglasses to the top of his head, and offered his hand.  “Scott Nielsen.  Sorry I just barged in on you like this.  I sort of thought Blake would be here.”

Ten minutes later, Scott was seated at the kitchen table.  He gratefully accepted the glass of iced tea Jackie offered.  “So there was some trouble?” he prompted.

“Oh, that, well…”  Jackie cautiously looked to the other woman.

“Someone was here trespassing yesterday,” Amy explained.  “Blake had gone to pick up Jackie and the kids at the airport.  I was here alone, but I’d taken Bear and gone across the lake.”

Scott knew Blake’s dog from the many photos he’d seen.  He frowned slightly.  “Did they steal anything, or what?”

Again, Jackie looked to Amy as if posing a silent question.  The redhead nodded.  Jackie turned to Scott.  “We think they were photographers trying to get to Amy.”

Scott assessed Amy thoughtfully.  He’d thought she looked familiar.  “You’re Shasta Pyke, the actress,” he said softly.

The redhead nodded.  “I’m Amy, really.  Shasta’s just…  Well, it’s just a stage name.  Anyway, we think they might have been looking for me.  That’s why, when you pulled up, we thought you might be them.”

He turned to Jackie, eyeing her with renewed respect.  “You weren’t going to let just anybody roll up in here, were you?  You’re a pretty tough lady.”

Jackie colored slightly.  “I felt responsible to keep her safe.  I guess we’re all a little on edge over the trespassing.  It’s never been a problem before.”

Just then, they heard the front door open.  “Hello?  Amy?  Jackie?  Where is everybody?” Blake called.  A moment later, he strode into the kitchen.

Scott looked up from the kitchen table where he sat between Jackie and Shasta.  “What’s up, my brother?” he grinned.  “I’ve just been getting acquainted with your lovely sister.  And your lovely lady.”

“Holy shit, I couldn’t imagine whose plane that was.”  As Blake closed the distance between them, Scott stood, and the two embraced each other.  “It’s been too long, man.”

“That it has.  That it has.”  Scott grinned mischievously.  “Wanna see my new ride?”

I’m aiming for a May release for Warrior Mine.

Watch This Space–STITCH by Nia Farrell

Beth Shelton will do anything to stay alive and be with her son, even if it means marrying into the mob.

She’s done it again!  My friend and fellow Wicked Pen Nia Farrell has begun another thrilling, sexy series, and it’s already an international best-seller!

Here’s the official description.

Physical therapist Bethany Shelton is supposed to be dead.  That was the plan when Matteo Visconti kidnapped her by mistake, thinking that she was a doctor. He survived the infection after she took the bullet from him, but he left it to his mob boss father and assassin brother to finish her.

Except they didn’t.  After a long, futile search for the man who shot him, Matteo learns that Beth survived and he’s a father.

Beth will do anything to stay alive and raise her son.  Matteo doesn’t hesitate to drag her down into his world.  He’ll make her want to stay despite the danger, despite the pain.  But when you marry into the mob, you don’t just get a crime family.  You get their enemies, too.

A full-length, standalone dark, dubious consent erotic Mafia romance, written for Ages 18+.

Nia gave me two excerpts.  I chose the steamier one.  You’re welcome.  😉

“I shouldn’t want you,” he grated, his breath still minty from when she’d helped him brush his teeth after supper.  “But I can’t stop thinking about you.  With the cashier.  With that mother at the checkout.  You, without a stitch, lying on the seat of my SUV, looking so peaceful.  So pure of heart.  I promised myself that I wasn’t going to touch you again.  You don’t know who I am.  What I’ve done.  What I’ll have to do as soon as I can go again.  There’s a monster out there who needs put down.  He takes women, shares them with his club, and kills them.  He raped my cousin.  I promised to avenge my family’s honor.  I failed once.  I won’t rest until he’s stopped.”

Stopped…as in dead.

Matteo was not the kind of man that most parents envision for their daughter.  He had no qualms about killing someone who deserved it.  He was willing to be judge, jury, and executioner if it meant that justice would be served when the legal system failed.

The intensity in his eyes was mesmerizing.  She wet her lips and swallowed hard.

“You should have run away as far and as fast as you could go.”

“You pointed a gun at me.”

“It was empty.  It’s still empty unless you found bullets and reloaded it.  But I needed help.  I’m just sorry it was you.”

He thrust himself against her hand.  Beth realized that her fingers were still wrapped around his girth, or as far as they could reach, anyway.

He had needed her, but the nature of his needs had taken a very carnal turn.  In another time, another place, she might have been seduced into having a one-night stand with a handsome, well-dressed man possessing an air of danger and an impressive cock.  But now…

If she fought him, she could hurt him.  If he didn’t take it easy, he could start bleeding internally again, and this time, she might not be able to stop it.

Would it really be so bad, to give herself to him just this once?  No right, no wrong.  Nothing but elemental need and what it took to assuage it.

“Matteo—”

“You were my angel of mercy,” he murmured, his voice grown rough with desire.  “Have mercy on me now.”

He cupped her head and urged her face down to his.  Rather than risk hurting him, she surrendered to her own rising passion.

They came together with opened mouths and parted lips.  Tongues thrust, twining around each other in a dance as old as humankind.  Forsaking her hold on his manhood, she unzipped her pants, hooked her fingers in the tops of her panties, and shoved everything down.  Kicking them aside, she climbed on the bed and straddled him, riding the ridge of his cock and stimulating his length while his mouth continued to consume hers.

He claimed one breast with his good hand, splaying his large fingers, rubbing and squeezing it.  Her hardened nipple prodded his palm.  Catching it between his fingers, he rolled and tugged on it, a pull that she felt all the way to her core.

She threw off her shirt, wanting to feel his mouth on her breasts.  Pushing them together, she offered herself to him, rising up to meet his mouth and welcoming the feel of his lips claiming one, then the other.  He took a nipple between his teeth and teased it with his tongue, licking, flicking, curling around it and sucking it inside.  He feasted on her flesh like a starving man, a desperate man, a wounded man with an uncertain future, seeking to make the most of the time that was left to him.

She didn’t want to think that he might die.  She wasn’t ready to accept that this might be the last act of his life.  The last time that he’d know the joy of a woman’s body and the comfort of her touch.  She gave it to him, all the while bargaining with God to do what He could to save him.  He might be a dangerous man, but he wasn’t a bad man.  Not really.  He was lonely and vulnerable and likely as scared as she was that things might not end well.

“It’s okay,” she whispered, seeking to reassure him when he pushed down the front of his sweatpants and freed his cock.  “It’s okay,” she said when he bent his knees and started to enter her, skin to skin, with nothing separating them.  She wasn’t about to raise the subject of condoms with a man who might be dying.

He claimed her in one desperate, searing thrust that took her breath away.

Mercy!  Is it hot in here, or is it just me?
